Welcome to Glacier Valley Elementary School's Instrumental Music Program:
Morning Musicians: Funded through the Juneau School District, this program is open to all 4th or 5th graders, regardless of their financial means. Students can choose to play one of the three foundational instruments to prepare for more options at middle school band: clarinet, flute and trumpet.
Beginning Morning Musicians: 4th or 5th grader playing an new instrument for the first first time
Rehearsals: Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.
Sectionals:
Flutes: 1st recess on Tuesdays
Trumpets: half of the group practices 1st recess on Tuesdays; the other half, 1st recess on Thursdays
Clarinets: after school on Thursdays
Advanced Morning Musicians: Currently, students who played in Morning Musicians as a 4th grader and continued playing that same instrument as a 5th grader are eligible to play in our advanced group.
Rehearsals: Wednesday morning from 7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. and Friday afternoon during school from 1:45 - 2:30 p.m.
